Things to Do

We spent a few weeks in Italy a couple of years ago so thought it may be helpful to put some of our favourite bits in one place.

Florence

- Pasta Class Florence (https://www.pastaclassflorence.com/). We had an amazing afternoon here drinking copious amounts of red wine and cooking delicious pasta.

- Vineria Sonora - cute wine bar

- La gelatiera - epic ice cream

- Rasputin - cute cocktail bar

- Mercato Centrale - indoor food market

- Pizzale Michelangelo - go here for sunset and you have an epic view of Florence and can watch it with an Aperol in hand

Cinque Terre

- Do the walk between the towns. Worth checking if the whole thing is open as parts of it are often closed for maintenance and landslides. We did it from Monterosso to Riomaggiore (I think). You need to buy a hiking pass for the day but you can just do it at the first checkpoint. If you do the walk there is a cute bar between Vernazza and Corniglia with a gorgeous view called Bar Il Gabbiano which does epic limoncello spritz slushies.

- We stayed in Vernazza but you can easily get trains between the villages so probably doesn’t matter that much where you stay.

- Gelateria Vernazza is a cute spot for an ice cream.

If you stay in one of the villages, book somewhere for dinner as the towns are small and the dinner spots get really booked up.

Montalcino

This a gorgeous town in Tuscany about 40 minutes from the Lazy Olive. There are epic wineries around, cute wine bars and some fab restaurants. A few of our faves were:

- Da Rizieri - cute wine bar

- Il Moro - dinner

- Enoteca Grotta del Brunello - another wine bar

- Fuligini winery

- Fanti winery
